Older Adults See Spike in Mental Health Diagnoses
It may feel to many that the COVID-19 pandemic is over, but Americans are still feeling the effects of the years of isolation and anxiety.
A new report from nonprofit organization FAIR Health has found that the percentage of patients with mental health diagnoses increased across all age groups, with the largest increase (57.4%) seen in those age 65 and older.
So, what can we do about it? Finding ways to get out and about and spend time with friends is a great option. I also find exercise helpful, and regularly enjoy water aerobics at SwimRVA.

Are You Following a Preventive Health Schedule?
Following a routine preventive health screening schedule is an important part of keeping an eye on our health as we age. I recently had a heart echo test done to check my heart health.
An echocardiogram (echo) is a graphic outline of your heart’s movement. During an echo test, an ultrasound is completed by placing a hand-held wand placed on your chest to take pictures of your heart’s valves and chambers.
