April is Stress Awareness Month
April is Stress Awareness Month, reminding us of the importance of managing stress in our daily lives, especially as we age.
Signs of stress include anxiety, sleep issues, muscle tension, headaches, and irritability.
Manage stress through relaxation techniques, exercise, following a healthy diet, treating yourself to a massage, and seeking support as needed. These things can reduce stress levels and improve your overall well-being.

Can I Talk to Your Group About Medicare?
As a Deacon at St. Paul’s Baptist Church, I was glad to be a part of the planning committee of our recent Savvy Seniors Wellness Seminar event on March 16.
We had speakers come in and talk about fire and home safety, reverse mortgages, and wills and trusts – and of course, I talked about healthy aging for a few minutes too.
I was also happy to speak to a group of seniors about Medicare at Rising Mt. Zion Baptist Church on Hartman Road on April 9.
If you would like me to speak to seniors at your church or organization, I’d be happy to discuss it with you!
Have You Been to The Hive Bar & Grill?
My granddaughter Bailey and I love enjoying meals together at my daughter Brandi’s new restaurant.
The Hive Bar and Grill recently opened at 23 W Marshall Street in Richmond, and my favorite thing on the menu is the chicken and waffles (though you can’t go wrong with anything you order.)
Stop by and check it out soon!
