In February, we celebrate Black History Month. In the past, I’ve shared my story though this feature done of my by my friend Sandra Jones.

This year, I also have a new story to share, one I wrote in 2023 about my life growing up in Big Stone Gap and how I returned home to visit last year after an inspiring trip to Chincoteague.

Regardless of how you share your story, I encourage you to celebrate and share it with others. Each of us has a legacy worth sharing.

Thank you for trusting me to help you with your health and life insurance needs. I’m so glad to have you here with me.

Dual-eligible beneficiaries are individuals who receive both Medicare and Medicaid benefits. The two programs cover many of the same services, but Medicare pays first for the Medicare-covered services that are also covered by Medicaid.

I’d love to have you join me on Tuesday, February 20 at 7:30 pm EST for a free virtual event to learn more about this.

If you are already on my email list, you should have received the Zoom information automatically. If you aren’t on my list, you can subscribe here to receive the information!

Heart disease is the #1 cause of death for both men and women in the United States.

Did you know that Medicare covers a cardiovascular screening once every five years?

In addition to regular screening, here are a few tips for heart-healthy living:

  • Maintain a Healthy Weight
  • Choose Heart-Healthy Foods
  • Manage Stress
  • Exercise Regularly
  • Get Enough Sleep

I’ll also be posting a lot about heart health this month on Facebook and Instagram, because it’s important to me to help us all stay healthy as we age.
