Have You Heard about Hospital Indemnity Coverage?
Hi friend,
Happy July! I hope you had a beautiful Independence Day holiday and that you are enjoying your summer so far.
This month, I wanted to share a bit about hospital indemnity coverage. I recently underwent knee surgery, and this plan reimbursed me $25 per session for the 16 visits I had with my physical therapist.
This is an inexpensive standalone plan that’s separate from Medicare. It offers reimbursement coverage for hospital stays, emergency rooms, ambulance services, medications, transportation, and more.
I would be happy to talk to you more about this coverage and how it has recently helped me. As always, I’m here for you if I can help you (or your family or friends) with your Medicare, supplemental insurance, or life insurance needs.
Thank you for trusting me to help you. I’m so glad to have you here with me.
Understanding Employer Coverage and Medicare
Still working at 65? Here’s what you need to know about Medicare and employer coverage.
If you’re 65 or older and have health insurance through your (or your spouse’s) current employer, you may be able to delay enrolling in Medicare without penalty, depending on the size of the employer.
In many cases, you’ll qualify for a Special Enrollment Period when your employer coverage ends, so you don’t need to rush into Medicare Part B.
Not sure what applies to your situation? I’d be happy to help.
Summer Safety
As temperatures rise globally, older adults face increasing health risks from extreme heat. Heat waves can pose serious health risks, especially for those of us over 50.
Here are a few key tips to stay safe:
Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of fluids, even if you don’t feel thirsty. Water, fruit juices, and hydrating fruits like watermelon are excellent choices.
Keep Cool: Use fans or seek air-conditioned spaces during peak heat hours. Cooling centers in your community can provide relief if you need it.
Know the Signs: Watch for symptoms of heat-related illnesses like heat exhaustion (excessive sweating, dizziness) and heat stroke (confusion, hot & dry skin). Act promptly if you or someone else shows signs of distress.
