Happy 60th Anniversary to Medicare and Medicaid!

Hi friend,

I hope you are having a beautiful summer! This month marks the 60th anniversary of the start of Medicare and Medicaid!

On July 30, 1965, President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Medicare and Medicaid Act. On that day 60 years ago, Medicare was established as a health insurance program for older adults, and Medicaid as a health financing program for certain lower income individuals.

Throughout the years, Medicare has played a key role in integrating hospitals, reducing poverty among older adults, providing economic security, expanding coverage to certain individuals with disabilities in 1972, adding coverage for hospice care in 1983, and further enhancements under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) in 2010.

The Medicare program today is a critical lifeline for 68 million older adults and individuals with disabilities.

As always, if I can answer any questions for you about your health insurance coverage, I’m here for you!

Are You Turning 65 Soon?

If you were born in 1960 or 1961, this is for you!

As you prepare to turn 65, you should begin getting ready for Medicare enrollment 6 months before your birthday.

The Medicare application process can be stressful and overwhelming, and when I turned 65 I knew I just had to make it my life’s mission to help others through it.

I invite you to give me a call, I would be honored to help you. ❤
