What Medicare Questions Do You Have about Your 2026 Coverage during AEP?

Hi, friend!

Thanks to everyone who joined me at my educational Medicare event at the Women’s Business Center RVA on October 25.

We discussed a variety of FAQs related to Medicare coverage and the Annual Enrollment Period that’s going on now through December 7, 2025.

Now is the time to enroll, disenroll, or make changes to your 2026 coverage.

As always, I’m happy to help you navigate the choices to find the best coverage for your needs. ❤

Ten prescription drugs with high costs for Medicare will be available at lower prices in 2026.

The lower prices for these 10 medications — which include arthritis, blood clot, cancer and diabetes drugs — are expected to improve quality of life for millions of beneficiaries.

These medications include Januvia, NovoLog, Farxiga, Enbrel, Jardiance, Stelara, Xarelto, Eliquis, Entresto, and Imbruvica.

Medicare Prescription Payment Plan

Did you know that there is a prescription payment plan that allows you to spread this out over the year?

In a calendar year, out-of-pocket prescriptions for a Medicare beneficiary cannot exceed $2,100.

So, if your prescription medications cost $2,100 January, you’ve hit your annual cap. But, instead of paying the full amount all at once in January, you can enroll in the payment plan and pay $167 per month throughout the year instead.

You have to enroll to take advantage of this, and you can do so with your health plan anytime at no extra cost. The monthly payment plan bill will come directly from the drug plan, separate from your premium bill – instead of you paying the pharmacy.

November is Men’s Health Awareness Month

November is Men’s Health Awareness Month, and a great time to remind you about prostate and testicular cancer prevention.

Prostate cancer screenings check for cancer in the prostate by testing the amount of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) in your blood and/or performing a digital rectal exam.

The PSA blood test is fully covered. After you meet your Part B deductible, you pay 20% of the Medicare-approved amount for the digital rectal exam and your doctor’s services related to the screenings.
